Quality control (QC) is a process by which entities review the quality of all factors involved in production. ISO 9001:2015 defines quality control as “A part of quality management focused on fulfilling quality requirements”.
Quality control requires the company to create an environment in which both the management and employees strive for perfection. Training and establishing of well-defined controls can achieve this.
In Blowpast, Quality department has two procedures, which talks about monitoring and Measurement, and Corrective and Preventive action. Inspection is in three steps; during receiving of raw and packaging material, in process and dispatching of finished goods. Quality testing involves each step of production process.
During receipt of raw materials, we ensure that the quality is of high standards by subjecting the batch on line of production and closely monitoring the outcome. Incase of any deviations, the lot is rejected. During product setting, the quality controller has to approve a running sample in reference to master sample (customer approved sample). The production team therefore runs the machine as per the approved running sample. Incase of defects, an NCAR (Nonconformity Corrective Action Report) is raised and the supervisor corrects the defect. The online Quality Controller then checks the goods as many times as possible however recording is done after every two hours.
